  1. Put all the ingredients in the popcorn maker or in a large pot and mix well.
  2. Bring to medium heat and let it bubble until the water evaporates, caramel forms, and the popcorn kernels start popping.
  3. Cover the pot, reduce the heat, and start slowly turning the handle of the popcorn maker so that the popcorn kernels descend and the caramelized popcorn rises (if you're using a regular pot, protect your hands and hold it with a cloth through the handles, shaking the pot to achieve the same effect).
  4. When the popcorn kernels take longer to pop, it's time to turn off the heat to prevent burning. Distribute in paper bags and serve.
