And speaking of our land, we can't forget that we Brazilians are the most creative people in the world, right? We always reinvent ourselves in a light and fun way in all sorts of situations, including in the kitchen, the perfect place to venture and innovate with Da Terrinha® tapioca, which is not just a food, but says a lot about moments of togetherness and lightness, creativity and innovation, in that unique way that only we Brazilians have!

So, on this National Tapioca Day, we are proud to be part of this celebration and invite you to savor, share, and celebrate with us. Prepare your favorite tapioca, try new combinations, use your creativity, and above all, enjoy this gift from our land, the taste of our Brazil.

After all…

Tapioca é Da Terrinha!

And how did it all begin?
The journey of tapioca began long before the arrival of European colonizers. The indigenous peoples of South America had been using manioc, from which the starch to make tapioca is extracted, for centuries. The word 'tapioca' comes from the Tupi-Guarani language and means 'coagulated' or 'coagulated starch,' reflecting the natural process of its formation. From indigenous villages to large cities, it has traveled across our country and won the hearts of Brazilians with its unique texture and neutral flavor, which allows for endless combinations of sweet and savory fillings. Whether at breakfast, an afternoon snack, or as a light and tasty meal, tapioca is always present, bringing with it cherished memories and the richness of our land.

In a country as diverse as Brazil, there are flavors that deeply connect us to our roots. One of them is our famous and beloved tapioca.

Today, July 15th, we celebrate National Tapioca Day: a tribute to the simplicity and versatility of a food that is part of our daily lives and culture. More than just a food, this delight is a taste experience that brings generations together… While the exact origin of this date is unknown, to understand the origins of tapioca, or 'beiju' as it is affectionately known, we need to take a true journey through time filled with history. Join us on this journey as we explore the fascinating origins and rich traditions that make this delicacy an icon of Brazilian cuisine, and discover how Da Terrinha® strives to honor this decades-old tradition.
